Online story: "Last week the Bank of China published a report entitled “How corrupt officials transfer assets overseas, and a study of monitoring.” The report quoted statistics based on research by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Since 1990, the number of Communist Party and government officials, public security members, judicial cadres, agents of State institutions, and senior management figures of state-owned enterprises fleeing China has reached nearly 18,000. Also missing is about 800 billion yuan (more than $120 billion)." -- Talk about a backhand across the face... China officials seem to have a penchant for 'out sourcing' assets but obviously chose other countries than the US to do so. Maybe because most of the assets they 'out sourced' were US Treasuries?

After look at the "My Plate" suggested by her husbandm I think I want Michelle Obama's "plate". She wants 'french fries' on hers.

Anyone not familiar with the web site, "MediaMatters"? it's a web site largely funded by George Soros and David Brock that primarily exists to harass and bring down conservative radio shows and the Fox News Channel. It's got a 501 (c) 3 status which means its donors can deduct 'gifts' from their taxes. That means that the web site is being funded off the sweat and toil of working people who listen to the networks Soros wants to eleminate. In other words, the federal government is in a sense funding a ist Amendment 'terrorist' organization.

In the current budget negotiations in Congress, DUMB&DUMBERats want to include a tax hike along with long term spending cuts. Their reasoniong is that more jobs will be created by raising taxes. Create jobs by raising taxes...maybe more government jobs which will lead to having to raise even more taxes in the future to keep those new government jobs funded. Talk about adding 'injury to insult'!

How does Emperor O'Bozo forget the details of presenting a Congressional Medal of Honor? Oh, ask him about his golf game last week, and I'll bet he can recite every stroke and mulligan.
---
I like Lynn Westmoreland, and will vote for him again in 2012, but we received a GIANT mult-color 'post card' from him yesterday boasting of his votes to "cutting spending and shrinking government". Printed in the upper left hand corner are the words: "Public Document - Official Business - This mailing was prepared, published and mailed at taxpayer expense". Congressman..practice what you're preaching. Next time you do this send it on a regular sized post card that does not demand premium postage, and how about paying for it from either your personal or campaign accounts. I was not impressed with your message about cutting government spending when I'm paying for your message.

L-E headline/story: "St. Luke students raise funds for cancer research * 22 students, along with teachers Lea Kilpatrick and Sally Hart, set up the stand in front of the main church sanctuary at the corner of 11th Street and Second Avenue in Columbus. Kilpatrick said they raised more than $200 during the sale." -- Sorry I missed it, but what's even more wonderful is the City Licensing Office must have missed it, too. Otherwise, the lemonade stand would probably have been shut down for operating without a license.
---
L-E's "Thought for Today": “A straight line is the shortest in morals as in mathematics.” — Maria Edgeworth, Anglo-Irish novelist (1767-1849). " -- Hmmm, if the LGBT organization had existed then, it would have demanded Edgeworth fired and sent to sensitivity school.
---
L-E headline: "President to meet Reid, McConnell on debt limit next week " -- Guess the Emperor and Reid (with an assist from Biden) will try to explain to McConnell that digging an even deeper hole might get them through to China's reserve of US debt.

From the "they have to be tenured" department - Online story: "ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Two aging professors accused of running a sophisticated prostitution website appeared to have one goal: Police say they wanted to create a place where respected men like themselves could go for sex without having to worry about getting caught up in street stings. *

Garcia’s attorney, David Serna, called his client “one of the most respected citizens the state has ever known." -- Only an attorney could consider a 'pimp' one of the state of New Mexico's 'most respected citizens'. Guess it's about the view from the bottom of the barrel.
---
L-E story: "BOSTON — James “Whitey” Bulger’s capture could cause a world of trouble inside the FBI. * The ruthless Boston crime boss who spent 16 years on the lam is said to have boasted that he corrupted six FBI agents and more than 20 police officers. If he decides to talk, some of them could rue the day he was caught." -- So a guy who boasts of corrupting FBI and police officers is now being held under police protection...guess he'll die of 'natural causes' before he gets to testify.
---
From L-E story: "WASHINGTON — As Osama bin Laden watched his terrorist organization get picked apart, he lamented in his final writings that al-Qaida was suffering from a marketing problem." -- Oh, being known as a terrorist is simply the result of bad marketing. Even DUMB&DUMBERats couldn't write a resume to fix Osama's image.

We're gonna miss Peter Falk...thank goodness for DVDs and reruns.

L-E headline: "GEORGIA EXECUTIONS * Medical experts split over state’s first execution with new drug * Roy Blankenship jerked his head during procedure" -- Make that
"The late Roy Blankenship jerked his head during procedure"! I wouldn't be upset if his whole body had experienced a gut[wrenching seizure as long as justice was dispensed. In fact, if a death row criminal's attorney objects to the use of the drug, let the attorney test it first before complaining.
